Course Outline

with Scott Lyons

This module will offer an introduction to the framework of healing and MindBody therapy.   An overview of the history of the field will be offered, as well as the position of MindBody therapy in relation to other models of therapy.  We will utilize case studies/ examples from faculty of bodymind therapy sessions to demonstrate the significance of this approach in therapy. evolved from its first textual evidence in the Upanishads to its ultimate classical formation.

with Christine Caldwell

This module will cover the common core principles that structure the field of MindBody Therapy. Drawn from various somatic disciplines such as body psychotherapy, dance therapy, sensory awareness, bodywork, and movement education, this module will look at the common theories and beliefs that unite these various domains, as a way to construct an overarching view of MindBody Therapy.

with Scott Lyons

This module will address the qualitative characteristics that are inherent in a practitioner of Mindbody Therapy and provide practices to cultivate these qualities.  Key perspectives and core values from humanistic-transpersonal psychology will be distilled in order to support students in their application of working in a holistic and client-centered approach.

with Christine Caldwell

MindBody Therapy disciplines share many core practices that can be traced back to the core principles. This module will examine five important commonalities of practice, examining why they are valued, how they are used, and their hoped for results. In addition, we will practice at least one technique for each of the five common practices.
